How many grades of
gloves are there?

In the gloves manufacturing process, whether it is
rubber/latex gloves, vinyl gloves or nitrile gloves, they
have two main levels of standard gloves.

1. Medical Grade

Medical grade has the highest standard for production quality used by medical doctors and health care practitioners for protection from contacting bacteria and viruses. This level of gloves is classified as “medical device” and must reach the standard regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in nearly every countries. There are two main types of medical gloves;

1.1 Surgical Glove

It is commonly used in surgery, characterized
by its thinness and flexibility, but with strength
size length to elbow. It is labeled 100% sterile.

1.2 Examination Glove

It is commonly used in general examination and is characterized by being thin, tall, compact, but shorter than the surgical type, which is just the length of the wrist.

2. General Purpose Grade (Utility Grade)

General purpose grade (utility grade) is intended for use in other non-medical applications. These gloves are suitable for general use such as engineering or industrial work, especially in heavy industry such as automotive industry, food and beverage, non-clinical laboratory that requires contact with the solution, acid-base, oil etc. or even at the household.
